An old photo of Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and Super Junior’s Donghae has been causing a stir.

On January 16, an online community posted this photo with the title ‘Jessica and Donghae’s Past’.

The photo shows Jessica and Donghae fondly leaning their heads against each other. Many people have been gaining interest in the picture because of Dong Hae and Jessica’s young faces. Dong Hae’s hair is cut in a style that was popular a few years back and Jessica exhibits a pure beauty.

To this netizens responded saying, “Did they really date?”, “They look the same now as they did then”, and “I thought Jessica was Krystal.”

120116 KBS eyes March broadcast date for YoonA & Jang Geun Suk’s ‘Love Rain’


KBS‘s highly-anticipated drama, ‘Love Rain‘, may hit the small screens in March!

A representative from the production staff spoke with TV Daily on January 16th and revealed, ”Although details haven’t been confirmed yet, KBS has expressed their wish to air ‘Love Rain’ in March. Scenes from the ’70s story arc have already been completed, and we are scheduled to continue filming in the beginning of March.”

Directed by PD Yoon Suk Ho (of ‘Autumn Fairytale‘ and ‘Winter Sonata‘ fame), ‘Love Rain’ exhibits the pure emotions of love during the ’70s, as well as the trendy love of today’s society. Both actor Jang Geun Suk and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA play dual roles.

Should everything go as planned, ‘Love Rain’ could broadcast on March 26th, after the conclusion of ‘Dream High 2‘.

[120117]Girls’ Generation’s First Japanese Album Breaks Record


Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album “Girls Generation”, released on June 6th of last year, sold 16,000 copies this past week, giving them fifth place on Oricon’s weekly album sales chart. This is the first time in history that an album by a Korean artist has placed in the Top 10 for seventeen weeks. The previous record holder was the original soundtrack for the Korean drama “Winter Sonata”, which remained in the Top 10 for sixteen weeks. ”Winter Sonata” was released in September of 2003.

In addition, Girls’ Generation holds the record among foreign artists for the most album sales in a week for a debut album with 232,000 copies sold. Currently, 780,000 copies of “Girls’ Generation” have been sold, which includes their repackaged album.

“The Boys” also made impressive headway. It was the best selling Korean album of 2011 with 385,348 copies sold.

[120117]‘Girls’ Generation’ makes history in Japan again!


According to Japan’s Oricon on January 16th, Girls’ Generation’s 1st Japanese album ‘Girls’ Generation’ which was released on June 1st, 2011 had secured the 5th spot on Oricon Weekly Album Chart with sales of 16,000 copies (total accumulative sales including repackaged album: 780,000 copies) for the week ending January 23rd.

‘Girls’ Generation’ has been placed within the top 10 for 17 weeks so far, which is the most number of weeks within the top 10 that an album by a Korean artist has ever achieved in history.

The previous record was held by the original soundtrack (OST) for ‘Winter Sonata’ which was released in September 2003. The OST managed to stay within the top 10 for 16 weeks with accumulative sales of 910,000 copies.

‘Girls’ Generation’ also holds the record of the highest number of copies sold within the first week week among foreign artists with 232,000 copies (no.1 on Oricon Album Weekly Chart). As of last year, the album recorded a total sales of 642,000 copies which was the 5th highest selling album in Japan.
